Local School Children Get to Be Bees Mascots
The six children on the pitch on matchday

Children from three local schools recently got to walk out onto the pitch with the players of Brentford FC as matchday mascots.

Six pupils from Green Dragon and Lionel School in Brentford and Grove Park in Chiswick were invited along for the recent Premier League fixture at the Gtech Community stadium against Luton Town which the Bees won 3-1.

The children were immensely excited to have this unique opportunity. Feedback from their parents and the schools has been very positive, highlighting it as a wonderful experience.

The opportunity came due to Hounslow Community Foodbox’s close relationship with the club. The charity has formed partnerships with many schools, organisations and businesses in the borough who support its work. FoodBox hopes to be able to offer more opportunities like this in the future, and to continue forming partnerships which help make a positive impact within the local community.

Things are still tough for many in the borough and during the past year Hounslow Community FoodBox has helped more than 8000 adults and children.

Hounslow Community Foodbox collects food parcel donations at the Rose Community Centre in Brentford (TW8 8NT).
