Put Your BACS Into Into It...

And you could win £25,000 a £25,000 cash prize!

Put your Bacs into it, Hounslow - you could win £25,000

Households across Hounslow have just a few weeks left to sign up to pay their council tax by Direct Debit and be in with the chance to win a £25,000 cash prize.

Direct Debit is a safe and reliable payment method protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee. This is a consumer safeguard that offers a full and immediate refund if an error is made and gives the consumers the right to cancel a Direct Debit at any time.

Hounslow is one of 20 boroughs taking part in the London-wide prize draw. To be in with a chance to win, residents must register to pay their council tax bill by Direct Debit by 5pm on 15th July 2010 by:

• returning a completed paper Direct Debit Instruction to the local council
• signing up to Direct Debit via the council’s website www.hounslow.gov.uk
• over the telephone on 0208 583 4242.

Residents who already pay their council tax bill by Direct Debit will be automatically entered into the prize draw.

Hounslow is also running an extra draw, only open to Hounslow residents, to award a second prize of £1,000.

Cllr Theo Dennison, executive member for finance and performance at Hounslow Council, said: “Direct Debit is widely recognised as the most efficient method of collecting council tax payments, and it allows our residents to stay in control of their payments. You spread the cost across the year and you won’t have to worry about being late to pay.

“We’re committed to offering the widest possible choice of payment options to our residents, but direct debit is by far the simplest, most efficient method of payment.

”This prize draw is just another incentive to pay council tax by Direct Debit and I wish everyone luck in the competition.”

The prize draw will take place on 20th July 2010. For more information on the free prize draw and how to sign up to Direct Debit visit www.ddwinner.com or contact your local council.
