Local Businesses To Have A Say On Council Budget

Hounslow Council wants business community to help shape plans

Local businesses are being invited to have their say on the council’s budget for 2013/14.

Businessmen and women from across the borough will be taking part in a free business fair and breakfast to help shape the council’s budget next year.

There will also be the chance to get advice from specialist council staff on doing business in the borough.

Cllr Ruth Cadbury, Lead member for Planning and Regeneration, said:

“It’s vital that we hear the views of the business community when we’re planning our budgets for the next financial year.

“Our shops and businesses are the lifeblood of the borough and it is essential that we support them and their needs alongside those of our residents.

“This business fair is part of our commitment to making sure that Hounslow remains not just a great place to live, but also a great place to work and to shop.”

The fair takes place on Thursday, 17 January, at the Holiday Inn, Brentford from 8.30am, with a public discussion on the budget getting underway at 9am.

Both the Hounslow Chamber of Commerce and the Brentford Chamber of Commerce, as well as members of the revenues, economic development, transport planning and traffic management teams, will all be on hand to talk to local entrepreneurs about support for their businesses.
