Free Personal Safety Awareness Evening Next Week

Police advice and even a judo club on hand to help you feel safe

Residents wanting to find out how to keep themselves and their property safe are being invited to a special event next week.

A free Personal Safety Awareness Evening will be taking place next Wednesday (30 January) to give people the chance to find out how to avoid becoming a victim of crime.

As well as talks from local police officers, and the British Transport Police, there will be demonstrations from Heston Judo Club, property marking, and crime prevention goodies to take home.

Cllr Ed Mayne, cabinet member for community safety at the council, said: “No-one wants to be a victim of crime, but there are a few things you can do to help make it a lot less likely.

“I hope as many people as possible can make the time to come along to the event, as we have got together a real wealth of knowledge from various experts who can help you make sure you’re doing what you can to stay safe.

“Events like this are a great way for us to get out into the community to help people avoid becoming victims of crime.”

The event is free, and starts at 6pm at Lampton School, Lampton Road, Hounslow.
