Reach For The Sky Say Hounslow Council

Chance for local students to get marketing apprenticeships

An opportunity to study marketing while working as an apprentice at Sky has been made available for local students. Hounslow Council has backed the scheme and reminded would-be applicants that time is running out for what they described as a "unique opportunity".

Based in their state-of-the-art Osterley campus, these opportunities are only open to Hounslow residents who already have A-Levels (or the equivalent) or are in their final year and working towards completing them this summer. There are currently five marketing apprenticeships available.

Councillor Ruth Cadbury, cabinet member for planning and regeneration, said: “These are amazing opportunities offered by a world leader in media and entertainment. If you’re ambitious and want to break into marketing, I urge you to grab this chance with both hands!”

Deborah Baker, Sky’s Director for People said: “Generating fresh ideas is key for the creative industries and investing in youth and creating opportunities at a junior level is an essential part of that process.  Young people bring enthusiasm, different ways of thinking and a willingness to embrace new experiences, all of which ensure Sky’s future growth.”

The scheme will offer a chance to study a Level 3 Diploma in Marketing while you work.

Sky said that the offer includes a fantastic training and development package, a competitive salary, and amazing benefits plus a free Sky+ HD TV with top tier viewing package, free Sky Broadband and discounted telephone, generous holiday entitlements, and lots of other benefits like a pension scheme, life insurance and healthcare.

For more information, go to www.workforsky.com/apprentices and the deadline for applications is 17 March.
