Hounslow Council Launches New Support Package for Businesses


Aiming to help local firms tackle the ongoing economic challenges

Hounslow Council has started the fourth round of Innovate and Grow business support to help businesses tackle the ongoing economic challenges.

The programme of support for entrepreneurs and small businesses was launched at Brentford’s Digital Dock, the Council’s co-working space, on Wednesday, 25 January.  Businesses were invited to hear first-hand how the programme could help them survive and thrive in the challenging economic environment

Speaking at the launch event, Councillor Shantanu Rajawat, Leader of Hounslow Council, said, “Businesses in the borough are facing unprecedented challenges with inflation at a 40 year high, rising costs and energy bills, and consumers tightening their purse strings. As a Council, it’s vital we equip our businesses with the tools to survive and thrive in the current economic climate.

“Following on from the success of previous rounds, I’m delighted we can deliver a fresh wave of our Innovate and Grow business support programme – focusing particularly on supporting business growth or greening their business.

“I would like to encourage businesses from across Hounslow to apply.”

The tailored enterprise support includes:

  • Small grants for growth and low carbon initiatives – Businesses can secure between £2k - £4k to introduce new initiatives.
  • 1:1 growth mentoring - with experts who will help develop and grow small businesses.
  • Digital Support – specialised support for small businesses to audit digital performance and skills, capacity build and advise implementation of digital tools for growth.
  • Writing and winning bids – support to master the art of bid writing; connect with key buyers and suppliers; access live tenders and submit winning bids and proposals.
  • The ‘Loft’ – support for micro businesses to set up in an new marketplace in the Treaty Centre, Hounslow. 
  • Digital Dock – Hounslow Council’s co-working space in Brentford. New membership plan offers for Hounslow businesses and residents.

Hounslow Council has partnered with Branduin, CPG Executive Consulting Ltd, Smarter Society and SaveTheHighStreet.org to deliver this free programme of support.
