Postal and proxy vote registration deadline fast approaching

Residents who are unable to vote in person in the forthcoming elections, or who would rather vote by post, are being reminded that they need to submit their application for a postal vote by 5pm 20 April, and requests for a proxy vote by 27 April.

Polling cards for the council elections have been sent out and Parliamentary polling cards are due out in the next couple of weeks. All registered electors including postal voters will receive a poll card. Postal ballot papers will be sent out in due course after the postal vote deadline.

If someone has not received a polling card they need to contact Electoral Services to check if they are on the register of electors. As long as you are on the register you do not need a polling card to vote. If you are not registered, the 20 April is the deadline to register for the elections on Thursday 6 May.

European Union citizens can only vote in the Council elections and not in the Parliamentary election.

Electoral Services can be contacted at elections@hounslow.gov.uk or on 020 8583 2828.
