The hunt is on for the Best Engineering Project to be completed in Hounslow during 2012 as the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) London Region launched its Civil Engineering Awards 2013.

Director of ICE London, Miranda Housden, said: “The ICE London Civil Engineering Awards celebrate outstanding civil engineering achievement, innovation and ingenuity by companies, organisations and individuals in London. 

“The awards have grown over the last decade into the highest honour for engineering excellence in the capital and ICE London is keen to see as many entries as possible from each London Borough so the judges have the most difficult job deciding on winners!

“All sectors of the built environment are invited to enter projects located in London substantially completed in 2012.

“We know there is a lot of good engineering work taking place across London ranging from small schemes needing just a few thousand pounds to turn them into reality through to multi-million developments – all of those schemes have an impact on their local community and we wish to recognise their success through these awards.

“Previous winners include the Thames Water Lee Tunnel project, the East London Line, King's Cross Station redevelopment works, the London 2012 Velodrome, and the Olympic Park enabling works.

“The awards ceremony will take place at the headquarters of the Institution of Civil October 25, 2012reet, Westminster, London SW1P 3AA on the evening of Thursday 14 March 2013.”
