Mayor To Review Lionel Road Development

Boris Johnson must decide whether it needs further scrutiny

The Mayor of London Boris Johnson is expected to review the Brentford Football Club development on January 29th. He will make a decision on whether to 'call in' the project for further scrutiny, which could delay the process, or give the go-ahead.

Hounslow Council granted planning permission to the club last December for a new football stadium and a controversial residential development which is being opposed by a number of local groups.

The decision was subject to being referred to the Greater London Authority and Secretary of States for Communities and Local Government Eric Pickles for consideration.

The Lionel Road Project Team is urging Brentford FC supporters to email expressing their backing of the plan to the Mayor, Sir Eddie Lister (Chief of Staff and Deputy Mayor for Policy and Planning) and the Strategic Planner David Blankson-Hemans .

However a petition calling for the reversal of the Planning approval has also been lodged for those opposing the project, and will be sent to the deputy-Mayor of London Sir Edward Lister.
