Have a look at your local murders

murdermap.co.uk is a relatively recent website that aims to map and detail every murder and manslaughter committed in London from the present day back to Jack the Ripper.

It currently is only comprehensive for the last few years but that's enough to start giving us a picture. You can filter the murders by type: poison, gun, bomb, blunt object for starters, but no candlestick in the library as yet.

It is being compiled by crime reporters based on court reports and the Old Bailey's archives.

It also contains relevant news and legal updates as well as discussions about criminal justice. It makes for a fascinating, if disconcerting read.
