Park Club Fireworks Extravaganza

Fantastic event that managed to dodge the showers

This year's Park Club Fireworks Extravaganza promised amazing cuisine, an exploding bonfire, the "fun" fair, extraordinary pre-firework acts and of course, the fireworks spectacular the Club has become so renowned for.

There were weather alerts for the evening from 6am on the day and there was seriously heavy rain throughout Chiswick from 2pm that looked like the night would be a washout. BUT – it most certainly wasn’t! The heavens opened and then they closed just before 5.30pm.

This year's fireworks at The Park Club started just as the rain stopped with funfair, disco and  the most scrumptious British Street Food from the likes of Food BANGWOK authentic Thai, TINDERBOX Traditional stonebaked pizza, roast meats and fish baked on the bone, ORIGINAL FRY UP MATERIAL, a very special all day breakfast provided by the fourth emergency service, DOG TOWN LONDON, rare breed hot dogs in steamed buns with mad relishes, BESSIE High Tea - Kentish cakes and warm cider, BIG EASY PO BOYS New Orleans inspired sandwich or fried shrimp with a Cajun jumbalaya on the side! So – there was some very yummy food!

The acts kicked off with some hi hop dance demos from Eduardo's SOCIETY DANCE followed by Emily Estelle.  Emily Estelle is an acclaimed classical artist who has opened FA Cup Finals and recently finished touring with Russell Watson! Having arrived for the sound check in the midst of the storm, Emily sound-checked knee deep in mud and after a glass of Champagne and an amazing "dry" outfit blew the Park Club crowd away with top "c"s here there and everywhere, including incredible performances of 'Time to Say Goodbye', 'Who Wants to Live Forever' and' Nessum Dorma'!

 Ruby Lux of recent and rapid fame, were next up. For the Radio 2 listeners amongst you, they recently performed live on the Chris Evans BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show and this week were signed to Sony Worldwide! Unsurprisingly, they wooed the audience! And the final artiste was Conor Maynard! Yes – the multi award winning Conor Maynard - back to The Park Club for 2013 after 2012 with a fabulous new set and a BIG question to  a masses of fans attending –R U CRAZY? Amazing!

The finale of course were the fireworks! Michael Lakin of Starlight and Royal Appointment did not disappoint! 

The evening helped raised funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care, with donations and a GIANT RAFFLE running up until 7 December 2013.
