As Vacherin Season Ends Petit Sapin Cheese Arrives

Le Vacherin offers two new Sunday Lunch promotions for April

Chiswick's Le Vacherin always offers delicious classic French dishes to its diners and Chef Patron Malcom John is pleased to announce two new Sunday Lunch promotions for the month of April.

As the Vacherin Mont D’Or cheese season comes to an end, Chef Patron Malcolm John has sourced a summer Vacherin style cheese called Petit Sapin of the Jura region of France for the first time.

Petit Sapin is a Vacherin style cheese that has a creamy to runny centre encased by a solid, crumpled rind. The aroma is not overpowering, however it does have an appealing rustic earthy smell which is partly a reflection of the high quality of the mountain milk it is made from. Baked and served in its individual box, it is a great alternative to the Mont D’Or.

Petit Sapin cheese baked with provance herbs and served with Bayonne ham, fennel, grilled aubergines, dry Roma tomatoes and endives. Priced £15.50 for two people, this delectable dish will be served with two 125ml glasses of Picpoul de Pinet Coteaux du Languedoc 2005 wine from 12pm – 4pm Sundays

The alternative Sunday Lunch Promotion is: Slow cooked Glouster old spot pork belly with creamed potatoes, puy lentils and apple & sage puree priced £10.95 and served with a 125ml glass of Duras Cabernet from 12pm – 4pm Sundays.

Also, following the success of the midweek Taste of France for Under £10 offer, this will also be extended to include April (until 29th April) offering succulent steak and chips.

Steak Frites and a 125ml glass of Duras Cabernet cotes du Tarn Domaine les Méritz, Sud-Ouest from 6pm until 7.30pm, Monday – Thursday and Sundays

Along with delicious lunch menus offering two courses for £10.95 and three for £15.95, Le Vacherin is the perfect place for fantastic French dishes any day of the week.
