Wimbledon comes alive for Christmas
Thousands of people turned up to mark the start of Christmas in Wimbledon, with the Wimbledon Winter Wonderland event on Thursday (November 29).
There was a packed evening of street entertainment, live music, dance, street theatre, balloon modelling, human statue and market stalls on The Piazza.
It all started with a parade along the Broadway led by Samba dancers, and featuring Father Christmas. It also included local schools and groups as well as AFC Wimbledon.
The Christmas lights were turned on, and there was a fantastic fireworks display from the roof of Centre Court shopping centre, with Warwick Davis, from the Snow White panto at New Wimbledon Theatre, doing the countdown.
