Southend 2 v Wimbledon 1

Wimbledon have been knocked out the Johnstone's Paint Trophy after a 2-1 defeat at Southend on Tuesday (September 4).

The Dons scored first, with Frankie Merrifield slotting it home to mark his debut goal for Wimbledon on the 38th minute.

But Southend responded with two second-half goals - the winner being scored by Ryan Cresswell in the fourth minute of injury time.
