Acton property market continues to stagnate

Prices unchanged over the past year with volumes down

Once again numbers released by the Land Registry offer little encouragement for local estate agents with prices appearing to be static and volumes well down on previous years.

The figures show that the average price of a Acton property is now £265,055. Acton prices are up by unchanged over the last year compared to a 4.6% rise for London and a 5.6% national increase.

The latest set of numbers from the Land Registry show that home sales in the W3 area fell by 38.8% compared to the same time last year.

With only 123 properties changing hands in a three month period the market is as quiet as it was during the period of uncertainty following the September 11th attack on the World Trade Centre. The rest of the country also saw a fall in volumes but not to the same extent as Acton.

With ample supply coming from a series of new developments there are fears that the market will continued to be flat for the foreseeable future.
