Ballymore Drop In Meeting

MP visits last display on High Street before the Planning Committee

Local MP, Mary Macleod attended a drop-in session at the Docking Station on Saturday to talk to local residents about the redevelopment proposals for Brentford High Street.

Ballymore, the company responsible for the redevelopment, provided boards displaying the proposals as well as documents relevant to their planning application. Unfortunately, they decided not to attend to discuss their updated plans.

Mary said: ‘I was pleased to see such a great turnout at the drop-in session on Saturday. Brentford High Street is an important part of our local community and residents really want to see the “right” redevelopment take place.

"I was disappointed that Ballymore did not attend the drop-in session despite repeated requests, which would have helped answer the genuine questions that residents had.

"I would encourage anyone interested in speaking at the Planning Committee meeting on 28th November to inform the Council by contacting the Committee Clerk".

Further comments on the application should be forwarded to the case officer, Sunny Desai at sunny.desai@hounslow.gov.uk

The matter may also be discussed at the next Brentford Area Forum on 21st November although the agenda is not yet definite. It is possible that residents will be able to speak on this issue then.

Council officers will be submitting their report on the redevelopment to the Council’s Planning Committee on 28th November 2013. This will be a ‘special meeting’ aimed solely at discussing Ballymore’s planning application and members of the public will also be able to speak at that meeting, subject to notifying the Committee Clerk before the meeting.
