Moves Made to Reopen Abandoned Sauki Site

Licence application submitted for large vacant unit on High Street

Sauki restaurant replaced China Buffet

March 27, 2024

A move looks to be afoot to reopen a restaurant on a vacant site on Brentford High Street.

Sauki closed last year after a brief period of operation having taken over from China Buffet. The venture seems to have been a failed attempt to take the large venue upmarket.

Now an application has been made for the reintroduction of a premises licence at Unit 8, Brentford Dock. The previous licence holder was dissolved but permission is being sought to sell alcohol at a restaurant with table service until 11pm each evening with the last customer leaving by 11.30pm.

No restaurant name has been specified with the application but the applicant, QC Newport Ltd, is registered at an address in Chinatown.

The application says that the proposed licensed area, which includes an outside seating area is significantly reduced from the previous licence and any conditions will be more up-to-date and relevant.

Any comments on the application need to be sent to licensing@hounslow.gov.uk by 15 April.
