Sixth form sports students at the Bolder Academy in Isleworth were able to take part in an elite-level coaching masterclass from ex-England International cricketers earlier this month.

On Wednesday 24 April, Ashes legend Stuart Broad and Ian Ward visited the school. What students described as an unforgettable afternoon began with Ian Ward leading a Q&A session with Stuart Broad, watched by the Bolder Cricket Academy team made up of 6th form students and selected advanced Cricket players from other year groups. Students posed a range of questions for Stuart regarding his inspirations, toughest opponent, and mindset requirements to become a world-class Cricketer.

The Q&A session was followed by a Cricket coaching masterclass overseen by Hamzah Khan (Head Cricket Academy Coach) with Stuart and Ian sharing insights and expertise to support their development with the upcoming Cricket season ahead.

Reflecting on the experience, Assistant Head Mark Needham said, “We would like to share our appreciation to Ian and Stuart for sharing their knowledge and passion for the sport and to our partners at Sky Sports for making this truly memorable experience happen. We are currently looking for male and female Cricketers currently in Year 11 or 12 to join our next cohort and benefit from these amazing opportunities.”

Bolder Sixth Form is the only post-16 Academy in West London specialising in both Netball and Cricket alongside A-level and BTEC academic study.
