New Italian Restaurant Set to Launch at Verdict Café Site

The second branch of Pizzaiolo is set to open at the former site of The Verdict Bakery.
There was widespread disappointment and surprise when the café at the landmark Market Place site closed and many were quick to return when the new venture undertook a soft opening recently.
Pizzaiolo has been a popular spot on Windmill Road since 2016 and this new restaurant may be the start of a chain if owner and founder Lin Cutaj gets his way.
Right now, only part of the premises is open as work continues on the refurbishment continues with a new bar area planned.
A full ‘fine dining’ brasserie menu will eventually be available with a selection of Italian wines with a pizza chef on the premises to provide a more basic dining option.
A member of staff told us that they hope to be fully up and running by the end of the month.
Lin Cutaj has been in the business since 1999 when he started working as a Pizza chef for a small Italian restaurant in Chiswick. Pizzaiolo translates into English as pizza chef and this will remain at the heart of the offering of the new establishment. His aim is to serve freshly made dishes at competitive prices, without losing authenticity. Lin has trained a number of pizza chefs with a view to expanding the business based on this ethos.
One former customer of The Verdict said, "The old magistrates' court is a unique site in Brentford and it was a real shame to see it closed down for so long. I really hope the new owners can make a go of running the new cafe and that it'll become popular - especially with all the new residents of the Ballymore development opposite."
