Peter Smith in the courtyard of Redlees Studios
May 23, 2025
Redlees Studios in Isleworth is planning to hold a Summer Open Studios featuring the work of artists at the historic building on Worton Road.
Among the displays by over 20 artists will be pieces by ceramicist and sculptor Peter Smith who has been based there for over 15 years. He will be showing new sculptural work in stoneware and naked raku alongside new examples of his signature disc saddle pots.
Works are mostly thrown on the potter's wheel using white stoneware, crank and porcelain clays to create functional and decorative wares. Many pieces are altered or combined following throwing to create unique pottery. Peter uses a limited glaze range which includes his own glaze and englobe colours.
The event begins on Friday 6 June from 6pm to 9pm and then on Saturday 7 June and Sunday 8 June the building by Redlees Park will be open from 11am to 6pm.
The studios are located in a converted Victorian stable block which features a formal gallery as well as artist's studio spaces. The pop-up cafe providing home-made refreshments will add to your experience.
