Last of the Summer Bandstands in Watermans Park

The Friends of Watermans Park free-to-attend Summer Bandstands season continues this Saturday 27 July from 4pm to 6pm in Watermans Park.
This Saturday will feature:
Myriam Cavelli – is an Italian-Londoner Artist. She is a Triple Threat Performer - singer-songwriter, model, vocal coach and creative who has taken on the spotlight from a very young age. She moved to London at the age of 17 and graduated in Musical Theatre at the London College of Music. In 2019, Myriam launched her career as an independent artist and her music has reached more than 150K listeners all over the world. She has experience On Stage as Lead Vocalist, Dance Captain and Actor for productions such as Anything Goes Off-West End, TUI Ibiza and My Fair Lady, in which she played the role of Eliza Doolittle.
Kate Bushra – by day, Nithya Murugan is a Chemistry school teacher but at the weekends, she is a local singer-songwriter. She has written her own material, featured on DC Breaks no.1 single 'This is Love', has been a backing singer for Shola Ama and has performed in various other events and weddings. When Kate Bush played at Hammersmith Apollo in 2014, Nithya and her friend couldn't get tickets and instead of wallowing in self-pity, they put a night on for anyone in the same position, whilst raising money for MacMillan Cancer. On Saturday, you will hear a few songs from her set as Miss Kate Bushra!
Ed Hopwood - multi-instrumental Ed Hopwood forges a sound grounded in roots music with a style all his own taking elements of Blues, Zydeco & Bluegrass and effortlessly weaving them into a highly original live show. His trademark suitcase drum, guitar, and breathtaking harmonica playing have taken him to festivals & venues including Celtic Connections, Shambala & Port Eliot and London venues including The Union Chapel & The Green Note & Brentford Market Place as well as several European tours.
Edwin Addis will host the Summer Bandstand. Edwin has written and recorded a theme tune for the park - A Walk Through Watermans Park (Come Out to Play) which he'll be sure to perform.
As Cllr Guy Lambert posted on social media last week: “Concert started in Watermans park. Canvas roof, rugs, deck chairs, all mod cons, free. Good music, good company. What's not to like?”
The Friends encourage you to come and see for yourself on Saturday afternoon. This is the last Summer Bandstand in the park in July, they’ll be back over the Creative Mile weekend 31 August and 1 September 3pm – 5pm with “time” themed music.
The Friends of Watermans Park's main aim is to help protect, conserve and enhance Watermans Park, its environs and access to the River Thames for the enjoyment of residents and visitors.
