Players of all musical styles invited to Watermans Park event

There is no registration. Just turn up and play

August 6, 2025

Brentford is tuning up for a celebration of local talent this summer, inviting amateur pianists of all ages and musical styles to take part in a unique outdoor performance event: Piano on the Park.

Set against the backdrop of Watermans Park, the free event promises an afternoon of live music, community spirit, and artistic expression on Saturday 16 August, beginning at midday.

Organised by Brentford Voice, the initiative seeks to highlight the borough’s diverse musical voices—from classical enthusiasts and pop cover artists to budding composers and vocal accompanists. Whether performers find inspiration in Elton John, Lang Lang, Alicia Keys or their own musical musings, all are welcome to take the stage.

The event’s informal format means participants can simply turn up and play, with no strict registration or audition process. However, organisers do ask that anyone planning to perform drop them a quick email at info@brentfordvoice.co.uk to help manage numbers.

To add a touch of friendly competition, prizes will be awarded, including tickets to the prestigious London Piano Festival in October. Younger performers will have the chance to win a free family ticket to the Musical Museum along with a branded teddy bear, while other winners will receive complimentary passes to local cultural attractions.
