August 22, 2025
The Mulberry Centre is inviting residents to attend a Teddy Bear Picnic will host a community event on Thursday 25 September, from 1:00 to 4:00pm.
The event, which will be at the centre in the grounds of West Middlesex Hospital, will feature a showcase of handcrafted teddy bears created by participants in the Centre’s weekly workshops, known collectively as the Mulbeary Bear Makers.
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the makers, learn about the creative process behind each bear, and view a selection of unique designs. Bears will be available for purchase, and a charity auction will offer guests the chance to bid on exclusive items, with all proceeds supporting the Mulberry Centre’s free services for individuals affected by cancer.
The afternoon will also include refreshments and activities designed to foster community engagement. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own teddy bears and enjoy the event, which aims to highlight both local creativity and the Centre’s ongoing support work.
Sue Cooper, who leads the workshops, said the event reflects the Centre’s commitment to wellbeing and connection, “These bears represent hope, creativity, and the comfort our Centre brings to so many.”
Admission is free, and donations are welcome.
