A resident of Norwood Road is calling for measures to be taken to calm traffic after another crash in the area.

This Thursday (31 March) shortly after midnight a car ended up on its side near the junction with Thorncliffe Road in Southall.

Initially the driver was reported to be trapped inside but, by the time the emergency services including the Fire Brigade arrived, they had managed to get out of the car and were not injured.

No arrest was made following the incident.

A resident who observed the aftermath of the crash said, “The is yet another in a series of deadly incidents. The council must do something to slow vehicles down on this bend.

“I have seen people cut out of cars twice before tonight, someone drove straight through my wall too.”

An Ealing Council spokesperson said, “ We are very sorry to hear that there was an accident at this site and are glad to hear that no one was hurt.

“We are committed to working alongside TfL and the Met Police to reduce such incidents wherever possible. The council has acted to increase road safety by introducing a 20mph speed limit to the borough. We are also working with a new dedicated TfL and Met police team which is focusing on enforcing the speed limit in hot spots."
