A motorcyclist has died in hospital after being hit by a lorry on Hanger Lane this Saturday morning (6 May).

The 59-year-old man was critically injured in the collision which took place shortly before 9.22am near the junction with Chatsworth Road.

He was treated at the scene and a London’s Air Ambulance [HEMS] helicopter landed in a nearby park to assist. He died later that afternoon in hospital.

Next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

The driver of the lorry, a man in his thirties, stopped at the scene and is assisting with police enquiries although he has not been arrested.

Hanger Lane was closed for a time after the incident but has now reopened.

Detectives from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are asking any potential witnesses with dashcam, CCTV or mobile phone footage or anyone with any other information to contact police on 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting reference CAD 2098/06MAY.
