Ealing Property Sales - March 2013
Property across the area now averaging over half a million
March represented a fairly slow month for property sales in the W5 and W13 postcodes, with only 59 properties changing hands in Ealing and West Ealing combined. In the latter, the price of property transactions remained at a reasonably high level during the month, with an average value of £524,952 for each sale. However, the value of property sales in Ealing dipped, with a mean price of £455,317 recorded for each transaction.
Just 4 properties sold for over £1 million in either postcode during March: £1.8 million for 9 Carlton Road and £1,150,000 (achieved by both 24 Mortimer Road and 19 Colebrooke Avenue) were the most valuable sales in W5 and W13 respectively.
Beyond Ealing, data from Land Registry's House Price Index for March 2013 shows that London remains the best performing property market in England and Wales. The average price of a home in the capital rose by 9.6% over the year to £374,568.
For the country as a whole prices only rose by less than a percent, taking the average property value in England and Wales to £161,793. London has seen a rise in repossessions which were up by 28% in January 2013 compared with the same month in 2012.
