Ealing Property Sales - April 2013
Active market sees average price in W5 rise to over £500,000
April saw a steady month for the property market in Ealing and West Ealing. 80 properties were sold in the two postcodes combined, with 41 in W5 and 39 in W13.
Ealing saw transactions at particularly high prices and the mean value of property sales during April in W5 stood at £615,590, a peak for the year so far. The average transaction in West Ealing was also respectable, coming to £509,196. 6 properties in the local area were sold for over a million pounds during the month: the most valuable of these was 52 Mount Park Road in Ealing, bought for £2.175 million. The dearest property sold in the W13 area in April was 7a Culmington Road, which changed hands for £1,685,000.
The April data from Land Registry's House Price Index shows that property in London was up by 6.2% to £375,795 over the year. Nationally there was an annual price increase of 0.7%, which takes the average property value in England and Wales to £161,458. The monthly change from March to April shows an increase of 0.4%. Repossession volumes decreased by 28% in February 2013 to 1,293 compared with 1,788 in the same month of last year.
The most up-to-date figures available show that the number of completed house sales in England and Wales decreased by 3% to 43,573 during February 2013 compared with the figure of 44,829 recorded for February 2012. The number of properties sold in England and Wales for over £1 million increased by 3% to 488 from 475, once again between February 2012 and 2013. All regions saw repossessions decrease in the same period.
