Ealing Property Sales - May 2013
Property across the area now averaging over half a million
A moderate total of 80 properties were sold in Ealing and West Ealing during May 2013, 41 in the former and 39 in the latter postcode.
The average price of properties in the month reached £547,402 in W5 and £515,073 in W13, in both cases about par figures for the year so far. Of all the property transactions in Ealing, 5 had a value of over £1 million; of these, 39 Blakesley Avenue was the most expensive, commanding a fee of three million pounds. In West Ealing no property reached the 7-figure mark; the 835 thousand pound sum paid for 4 Hollingbourne Gardens was the highest in the area.
When sales in other postcodes are taken into account, the data from Land Registry's House Price Index for the month shows an annual price increase of 5% in London to £375,068. Nationally prices rose by 0.5% which takes the average property value in England and Wales to £161,969. The monthly change from April to May shows an increase of 0.1%. Repossession volumes decreased by 27% in March 2013 to 1,448 compared with 1,981 at the same time in 2012.
The most up-to-date figures available show that during March 2013, the number of completed house sales in England and Wales decreased by 15% to 52,090 compared with 61,334 in March last year. The number of properties sold in England and Wales for over £1 million in March 2013 increased by 21% to 625 from 517, also in the year from March last year to March this year. All regions saw repossessions decrease between March 2012 and 2013.
