Early Years Arts & Crafts Competition Showcases Budding Local Talent
The winning entry in H&F Council's early years service arts and crafts competition was 'The Three Bears' by Molly McLeish, aged 4, at Addison Pre-School, in Brook Green.
Cllr Antony Lillis, cabinet member for children's services, presented Molly and her mum Eleonor (pictured right) with a £50 Early Learning Centre voucher and presented Addison Pre-School with £100 worth of resources.
An impressive 155 children entered the competition, held for Childcare Month celebrations in June.
Cllr Lillis, was delighted to have the opportunity to judge the artwork in the competition. "I was very impressed with the quality of the entries submitted and the commitment of the early years providers and children who participated in the event," he said.
Two runners-up from other local nurseries each received a £10 Early Learning Centre voucher. There were also 13 highly-commended entries.
All entries were displayed in the window of Hammersmith Library and in the lobby of Cambridge House during June and July. Every child who took part received a certificate, colouring pencils, balloon and sticker.
Cllr Lillis thanked all the nurseries for supporting the council's goal of providing quality care and learning experiences for children in Hammersmith & Fulham, and for working in partnership with the early years service.
