Traffic Safety on Windmill Road

The amount and speed of vehicle users on the part of Windmill Road from the library to the Great West Road (in both directions) is a danger to both pedestrians and drivers.  The road (especially on the railway bridge is a potential accident waiting to happen, from the excessive speed of many drivers and the narrow guague of the road.  Parking at the newsagent/curry shop also presents further blockage of the road and makes crossing the road (in either direction) yet a further risk. A zebra crossing around the entrance to BrockshotRoad might help this potentialtrouble spot.  The area under the Great West Road is also in need of traffic re-direction, there are so many near misses and accidents almost daily.  Motorists jumping lights and turning into the Great West Road to and from WIndmill  Road.

Tesco's getting the boot over bag policy

Here is one former customer who has had enough of checkout assistants saying they have no bags and being apparently unauthorised to get you some. It took 5 minutes to track down a manager, a polite request and another 5 minute wait for them to arrive. There are other supermarket chains who don't subject you to this kind of 'service', I hear. So where do you recommend for a family of six cooking mostly from scratch?Oh and I normally bring bags but went on a whim.

Candidates for the Osterley and Spring Grove by- election

As the ICG candidate for this election I have taken it upon myself to do a bit of research to find out a bit more about my opponents. The obvious starting point was the article in the Brentford, Chiswick and Isleworth Times this week. The article gave a comprehensive write up about Sheila O'Reilly (Conservative Party) and I but only a couple of lines on the other two candidates only mentioning their names.My next port of call was the official web sites of the three opposing parties. The Hounslow Conservative's site was quite informative and had a pretty comprehensive write up about Sheila O'Reilly. The Hounslow Lib Dem's site was very informative, that is if you want to find out about anything other than Naseem Pankhida. The Lib Dem's home page states "Our ongoing campaign to keep in touch with local residents across the borough - all year round". My search under "by-election" came up with all of their recent results but not a single mention of the forthcoming by-election and their candidate. So much for keeping us in touch!. Finally I braced myself and visited the Hounslow Labour Party web site. I needn't have worried as this site is completely out of date. I did manage to do the Young Labour quiz that was probably compiled in 1997 but my search for information about Bandana Chopra was futile.My last cance of finding out anything else about my three opponents seems to be the London Boruogh of Hounslow web site. However I shall have to wait until Monday to see if it has been updated.This exercise has led me to one conclusion. The only party to make any effort in this by-election, apart from the ICG, so far is the Conservatives.Finally if anyone wants to find out a bit more about me you can vist www.votecommunity.org.uk or you can join in my weekly discussion forum at www.icgforum.org.uk on Monday between 7 and 8pm.

HEALING IN CHISWICK

Gob-smacked!

I've just breezed through the puppy thread and it reads like a multiple car crash.  On speed.Whoooo.... I wanted to say..... review the facts.....Cavalier King Charles spaniels are a breed that suffers from a number of severe genetic defects caused by inbreeding.  Vets bills, even with a pet insurance policy, can be hundreds of pounds a year.  Animal welfare isn't just about having a bowl of clean drinking water and having a loving home but ensuring that all the doggy's health issues are dealt with.  This means paying vet bills.As to other comments.Things aren't just right or wrong.  There are grey areas.  It's all about seeing something from another's viewpoint.  Whether you agree or disagree with it is another issue altogether.

Advice Please

On a certain Social Network site their rules state you have to be 13 or over to have a Profile on their Site.Recently i found 2 4yr olds and 1 6yr old who have profiles set up by a parent.I have sent this Website 4 emails in the past 7 days reporting these 3 Profiles and they have Taken no action.We Pedophiles going on these social networks looking for Kids i feel parents should not do it but i feel the Owners off the sites should take Instant Action and remove their Profiles.Can someone Tell me who can i report this Website to for taken no action?Thank U

Residents' petition to Borough Council

I know it's a little outside the borders of TW8, but it was a pleasure to be given the opportunity to present a petition to last night's Borough Council meeting signed by 250 residents of Waye Avenue, Cranford, calling for public safety improvements in the street and around the park.Although I'm not their ward councillor the residents asked me to present the petition as they believed that as a community councillor I would be more receptive.If there is anybody from the area reading this, please be assured that I will be monitoring the progress of the petition and will report back when I have a response.
