Ticket Face value £72.00Tell me you will make a reasonable donation (£20 or more) to a recognised charity and I'll Post them to you.It's an open Air show - you take a picnic with chairs etc if you wish but buy any wine / beer from their bar. Tickets includes a swim in the heated Pool!For Chiswick residents: Tamla Motown is a musical style emanating from Detroit which was very popular in the 60s and 70s with the working classes. HEALING IN CHISWICK

Tomorrow is the 2nd Monday of the month again so healers will be at the London Buddhist Vihara, The Avenue, W4 1UD between 11am and 1pm ready to welcome and give healing to anyone who turns up.  We look forward to seeing you tomorrow.Healing helps any condition, through from stress to physical illness.  The healing takes about 20 minutes.  There is no charge made for the healing (all the healers are working on a voluntary basis, although a donation is most welcome- all donations are given to the Vihara).You do not need to make an appointment or book and the maximum waiting time, if any, is 5-10 minutes.  If you want any further information before coming please give me a ring on 0788 189 6449.

Two Cats in need of a new Home!

Please help! We are desperately trying to rehome our two cats as we live on a main road and one of them keeps getting run over (leg broken three times in 18 months). We have tried all the animal shelters and they are full so we are having to keep them locked in til we find somewhere. Any suggestions warmly received, thanks

Valerie Lamey

It is with great sadness that we heard of the death last night of Valerie Lamey former Councillor for Isleworth South, Brentford Clifden and latterly Syon Ward. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this sad time. Val was a great fan of Man U. and also a founder member and enthusiastic supporter of the informal (very) Labour Women Councillors Gin Appreciation Society, those of us who served with her have many happy memories to look back on and we will all miss her enormously.

Pub in Ferry Lane

Hi Everyone, i am new to this site and i have a question for you.Last Friday my wife and i went to find a pub in Ferry Lane that we used to go to about 30 years ago. It has now gone. Flats in its place, surprise surprise.Does anybody recall what it was called. It was at the bottom of Ferry lane on the right. It was a small pub That had a back room that used to have jazz bands on a Friday i think. It also used to be used by the local Police. Its not the Waterman's Arms at the top on the left. Second question, does anybody have a photograph of this pub for nostalgic reasons. Hope you can help.Thanks, Roger.

Brentford Business Watch

Brentford has a new group developing safety in Brentford High Street and beyond.  Working with the local metropolitan police Syon Safer Neighbourhood Team,  “Brentford Business Watch” is a community based crime prevention scheme, the object of which is to develop joined up solutions to combat anti-social behaviours and crime.  Local meetings provide a forum for ways to amongst other things; provide funding for the development of crime prevention initiatives such as C.C.T.V. on the high street and walkie-talkie system.Working closely with other local organisations including Brentford Chamber of Commerce and The High Street Steering Group, all local business are welcome to attend.   Active members currently include; Classic Eyes, Tasha Internet Foundation, Quilliam Property Services and the Grand Union Development Trust, and the Syon Park Estate.Led by Roy Branch (Chairperson and Coordinator) of Brentford Dock, the next meeting is on Friday 1St July at 6pm in the community room at Brentford Dock.  For more information please contact Roy Branch on 07917 348082.  All businesses are welcome.You will see the stickers in the window of local traders  - we are trying to do out bit to reduce local crime.

Morris Dancers

There are Morris dancers in/outside the Magpie & Crown for the second time this week!Friday, 9pm.First was Tuesday, they stopped off at the Brewery Tap first, will have to post some pics if I can remember to.  It was quite entertaining seeing them all dancing outside with car after car beeping as they drove past!

Lampton School

Lampton has received an outstanding OFSTED report; not just outstanding but outstanding among outstanding.  I have never read such fulsome praise in an inspector's report.  The school was graded one (outstanding)in all four categories.  Of 38 inspection judgements 34 were graded one and four two (good).  The report is not yet on the OFSTED site (www.ofsted.gov.uk).  I recommend those interested in these matters to download it when it is.It is a pity that Hounslow does not seem to recognize the achievements of its schools.  In many authorities, such a report would have been a matter of congratulation and the issue of a proud press statement.  Lampton has not even received a letter of congratulation from the Leader (Peter Thompson), the Executive Member for Children's Services (Paul Lynch) or the Director of Children's Services.Come on Paul; I know that you are a warm and kindly man.  I am sure you will rectify this oversight immediately.

St. Johns School Fair this Saturday

Just to let people know that this Saturday Our Lady and St. John's School is having its school fete. I'll be honest and admit that it's not the best in the area (certainly in comparison to Mount Carmel's fabulous effort last week) but all support is gratefully received.For those that don't know, the school is on Boston Park Road (turn left at The Globe pub)

Local Debit and Credit Card Cloning ?

Just a word of warning; three people have contacted us at our estate agency in the last ten days saying that their credit and debit cards have been used in the states, Canada or Pakistan after using their cards (in a retail outlet or at a cash machine). Just wondered if this has happened to anyone else?  Thankfully it was the banks that contacted the rightful owners before the moneys were taken out of the account!

There is an interesting display of the latest set of plans for the land at Kew Bridge Road, Brentford at the Fountain Leisure Centre between 1-8pm this Thursday 3 July. Local Tamil Community

I had the pleasure on Saturday afternoon of visiting the Tamil Community Centre in Hounslow with Phil Andrews which was part of the refugee week.May I say what a very hospitable people they are and the food and enterainment laid on was excellent.This small Community provides access to health, education and general well being and has yet to ask Hounslow for any financial help whatsover.

Hogarth House

I had the pleasure of visiting Hogarth House yesterday evening and what a real treasure this is we have in Hounslow.We are so lucky to have so much history on our doorsteps and I would thoroughly recommend visiting if you can.
