Garden Waste Collection - Yellow Tags

I wonder if anyone else has shared my problem with the new arrangements. I have not received yellow tags for my garden waste bags.Being a miserly sort of person I signed up early to take advantage of the discounted price and I opted to stick with the green bags rather than the brown bin which is about the size of a Smart car. I received two spanking new green bags despite the fact that the old ones were perfectly adequate.My garden waste was collected on 5th April, the first day of the new scheme, perhaps because the operatives were armed with a printed list of those that had paid but last week it was left uncollected with no stickers to indicate why. Neighbours tell me that I should have received plastic tags to attach to the handles of the bags. I have not received my tags. My garden compost bin is full to the brim and I really don't want to make a planet-destroying car trip to the recycling centre.Several emails and 'phone calls to LB Hounslow remain unanswered. I value the service and I understand the reasons for charging but I find it very alarming that the quality of communication from LBH is so abysmal. I must add that Guy Lambert is a notable exception.

Hounslow Highways operatives with weak bladders

We are having footway works in our road, and twice this week we've had operatives using the local area to have a pee - they do have a portaloo so seem to be just too idle to walk up the road to use it. I happened to look out of my bedroom window this morning to be greeted by the sight of one of them p*ssing outside my garden gate. Yuk! Have now tweeted HH twice to report this behaviour. It will be interesting to see if they actually reply.

Power cut in Brentford

Southern Electric has confirmed that there is currently (at 9.30am, Thursday 12 May) a fairly extensive power cut in parts of Brentford; which has effected 1,006 customers. Engineers are on site and they will be investigating the cause and doing everything they can to get people’s power restored. Southern Electric aim to get the power back on by 10:30am but it could be earlier, or possibly, later depending on the nature of the fault. Decision will be made on 31 May 2016 .Re: corner commercial premises on Whitestile Road. Formerly shops and now Dental workshop. A lot of interest has been shown by buyers keen to continue with the property being used as a shop. It was used  as a shop for over 50 years but the dental workshop re-located from the shop premises a couple of doors down to his existing corner position some 12 + years ago. Complete discourtesy and inefficiency of this Council

I am fed up with this situation, so am posting! I signed up for  the garden waste service online in March. No response, no tags.Sent online form to Council on April 9th. Reference number obtained. No response.Attempted to telephone Council several times - could not even be placed in a queue, was just told that they were busy and then hung up on!!I am a service user and they are the provider, the least I would expect would be some sort of method of contact. Shoddy service to say the least.If I don't hear from them by next week, I am cancelling my direct debit for Council Tax - no doubt then I'll get a response.

Energy Boost Tomorrow

Energy boost?Energy Therapists will be at the London Buddhist Vihara, The Avenue, W4 1UD on Monday, 9TH May, between 11am and 1pm (last session 12.45).  The session takes about 15-20 minutes and I am sure that you will feel really good at the end of that time, with lots of vital energy to enable you to enjoy the rest of your week!  A number of therapists come in each month and give their services free.  The Vihara kindly allow us to use the hall at no charge so a donation is most welcome as this enables us to give all donations to the Vihara.These sessions are not related to any religion, everyone is welcome.

Why is it always when we have bad weather

Everytime we have freezing cold weather the heating on Ivybridge goes down. This year we are constantly seeing the heating going down leaving some off us with no hot water or Heating or both for days. Some off us again have had no heating for 4 days and our flats are freezing. When you call T Brown they say we are dealing with it and hopefully it be up and running latter today. I have had a engineer at my flat 3 times and i get told its not an issue at the boiler house but within the block. We have elderly, sick and residents with children who are cold (inc a 91yr old). Also even though we get no heating we still have to pay for it we never get a refund for the days we did not get it due to the failure of the system. I was told by the council back in February that they were going to renew everything in the boiler room, and replace pipes etc in each flat in the tower blocks costing £200K and that this would start this year. T Brown Engineers have told me the system is over 40yrs old and parts are hard to find and all they can do is a Temporary fix. With the money the council take from residents why have they not replaced the boiler room equipment. Why are residents having to suffer and still pay? I understand yesterday that 2 estate in Feltham and Brentford Towers lost heating too. Can i ask our local Councillors what they are doing about this issue and if residents who have had no heating for days will be reimbursed the money they have paid for heating they did not get please?
