Brentford appears to be in its own island with two schools and a nursery plonked in the middle of it.

Words that offend the liberal left

Wendy Richards AKA, Pauline Fowler of EastEnders fame, has fallen foul of the tree huggers, by describing a member of the BB house, as being oriental. Has the bloody country gone mad? Oriental means:-Often Oriental Of or relating to the countries of the Orient or their peoples or cultures; eastern.This is another bizarre perception that we have imported from the states, where the word is also seen as offensive, but I bet it doesn't offend the people from the or***t, only the white liberal left, who are destroying this country. The only way to stop it is to confront it, and let them know that we are not going to live under this cloud!I have committed a crime on W4, which had the luvvies climbing over one another to protest that I had referred to those who set up cannabis farms, as Vietnamese. Racist bigot, and other words of abuse, were hurled by the usual bunch of cretins, who see offence in everything they don't agree with.  Soon we will have to speak out of the corner of our mouths, (I have noticed that many already do so!) when referring to "asylum, immigration, nationality, terrorists, black etc etc, soon the En***sh dictionary will have to be written, God help this country if ever they gain local or government power, instead of being the vociferous minority making a bloody nuisance of themselves!

Fish tank - Urgent Rehoming

Hiya, i have a fish tank needing rehoming pretty urgently as i am now living in Oz and my niece has let me down cleaning the tank and i'm pretty concerned for the fish. TfL are currently consulting on the retendering of bus routes.Please bear in mind TfL’s advice on suggestions, comments, etc on routes:  They are looking for comments from the public to Stakeholders in this case London TravelWatch. They would particularly welcome information on any particular problems you may have identified rather than a specific suggestion for extension or enhancement of an individual route. This is because the best solution to a problem may be a change to another route rather than the one being directly reviewed. Closing date for comments put on the forum by 23rd September.  I will then take them forward to Tfl. Suggestions might include:                                                 ideas which enhance social inclusion;                        corridors or areas which might benefit from new or enhanced Sunday or night services;                        areas or corridors on which you feel increased frequency or larger vehicles are needed to  cater for demand;                         identifying routes which you feel are unreliable;                        ideas which improve integration with other transport modes or interchange with other bus  routes or improve access to major developments.”  The routes affected are: 207, N207, 427, 427, 607 195 266, N266 260 120 70, R70 94, N94 11, N11 195 X26 110, 111 81 211, C1

I note your response to my posting in which I referred, incorrectly, to your performance in a Hounslow Council election. I accept that this did not occur and that you have never stood for the Council, and am happy to unreservedly apologise for any upset caused. War Memorial and Xmas Lights Fund Raising Dinner and Auction

At last tickets are available for Brentford at Watermans Fund Raising Evening on Friday 26 September at 6.30pm.  Tickets cost £25 each and will include a champagne reception and private view of a multi media art exhibition.  The exhibition is fantastic and includes work by local children from schools and various groups.  Dinner will then be served followed by the auction and raffle.  Afterwards music and dancing.  Music will vary from swing and ratpack to Duffy and Amy Winehouse so should suit all tastes.  The event will be glamorous, a glitterball and some very fancy lights, a great opportunity to dress up and have lots of fun with like minded people.    Money raised will go towards the St Lawrence War Memorial Fund and Christmas Lights 2008.Don't worry if you are new to Brentford or don't know many people, this will be a great opportunity to meet lots of new friends who care about Brentford.Tickets are for sale at Watermans and Quilliam Property Services on the High Street.We are still accepting donations, items and promises for the auction and raffle.  For more information contact Julia Quilliam 020 8847 4737.

While Cllr Connolly and his political bed mate search the archives for non existent documents, to support his lies. They might just tear themselves away, to comment on the report, that illegals in this country, which it is reported to be in the region of 600,000, the size of a city like Sheffield, are being allowed to stay here. Why are they possibly being allowed to stay you ask, because they have only 60 immigration officials to track them down it is reported, if that figure is correct it is disgusting!The questions I would raise, is how they got here in the first place. Where are the services to support them, Hospitals, GP's, Schools, Employment, Housing and other essentials. Is this the way to handle this mess...any suggestions? Before the PC brigade come out with the race card forget, it I have heard it all before?We are being taken for mugs again. Perhaps Ann or Alan Keen can give us some information, as to exactly what the position is? We are bursting at the seams and this position has got to stop.

Front page story - I hope this has turned out okay.What information is needed from the general public as we are under the impression that the whole area is ringed with traffic cameras and following their trail should be a matter of scanning the film footage? Or is it not that simple?Are they looking for a particular van (with number plates) or for people to report where such vans are parked up on their streets?What sort of information is sought?  :-)

Hounslow's 2008 GCSE Results

I am dismayed at your prejudicial and negative presentation of the Hounslow Secondary Schools' GCSE results.  No-one would have understood from your story that Hounslow's results overall were well above the national average.  Voluntary aided schools and community schools draw upon the same pool of students; it is statistical nonsense to treat them separately and then accuse the community schools of being "well below the national average".  Surely, even you must understand that GCSE results are heavily influenced by the social conditions in which students live.  Those attending community schools have a significantly higher level of deprivation than those attending the voluntary aided schools.You mention a number of schools but somehow fail to mention Heathland and Lampton; each had 77% obtaining five or more A*-C passes.  Of Lampton's  students, 25% are entitled to free school meals.  60% of them achieved five or more A*-C passes.  When the government publishes its added value scores and you find some of the community schools doing better than the VA schools, will you give them the same publicity?Lampton serves part of Brentford.  Why do you leave it out of your table?

Tagging Grandma

Whilst I don't condone benefit fraud it is more often than not a crime committed by desperate people on low incomes and many cases are much more complex than we read about in the press. However, it is a cruel and unusual punishment to put an electronic tag on a woman who presumably poses no flight risk. They don't tag people who steal far larger sums of money with much less real need in corporate crime cases. This just strikes me as kicking someone when she is down.
