And they wonder why?

Today thousands and thousands of public sector workers are out on strike over wages and pensions. I watch Daily Politics (God alone knows why, it does the blood pressure no good at all!) I am furious that government ministers and other feel that TU's should be subject to getting at least 50% of their membership to agree to a strike before it can go ahead, when they are quite content for pathetic numbers of electors get them into Parliament. I have seen several members of the government this morning trying to slag off the unions and banging on about how we have to sort out the financial deficit, so therefore no-one in the public sector can expect a rise. The bankers and politicos who got us into this mess don't seem to be doing too badly- how many of them are cutting back? In the past couple of days the papers have been full of how the higher echelons are trousering ever larger rises, bonuses and pension pots, and today comes the news that more of the great and the good have fiddled tax to the value of £5bn. And they wonder why people are on strike? Only a few are paying the price it seems, at the same time rather than face the fact that to finance our NHS we have to understand tax must rise, there is talk of people having to pay for certain services. So rather than do what is best for the country's health a political decision will guide what happens to the health service, no we can't possibly put up tax. It's not about running anything it's all about keeping power for the select few who don't have the intelligence or the guts to do what is right and fair for the majority.

Thames Water Strike Again ! - Mogden Footpath Shut ?

Emily sent the following email. I don't understand why the Mogden footpath should be closed. If the path through the works has to be closed because of pollution in the Duke of Northumberland's River, shouldn't access be prevented to the rest of the river and the River Crane ?Dear ResidentsA two-metre valve (penstock) in a major sewer serving Heathrow Airportjammed shut on Saturday afternoon at Cranford Bridge on the A4 Bath Roadwhile engineers carried out routine maintenance. All attempts to re-open the valve were initially unsuccessful.  It is nowbeing forced open using specialised lifting equipment fitted overnight. While we are able to take a lot of backed-up sewage away in tanker lorriesfor treatment, the volume of sewage was such that we were not able totanker all of it.Faced with the unpalatable choice of letting the remaining sewage back upinto the airport or spill to the River Crane, we were forced to opt for thelatter, resulting in sewage entering the river and damaging wildlife, whichwe deeply regret. We are working with all those affected by this problem and with theEnvironment Agency, who are aware of our plan to tackle this problem assoon as possible.Once normal flows resume, probably later this morning, some stronger thannormal effluent will arrive at Mogden and this may cause elevated odourlevels for a few hours, for which we wish to apologise in advance. Some of the pollution from the River Crane has passed into the Duke ofNorthumberland river, and this has required a temporary closure of thefootpath through the Mogden works, for which we would also like toapologise.Kind regardsEmilyEmily GorenCommunications AdvisorThames WaterMogden STWMogden LaneMiddlesex TW7 7LWt: 07747 644345

Multiculturalism

During colonial days, British did not follow local customs or culture. They didn't exactly "go native". They even forced the native Americans and native Australian to adopt all the evils of their culture and customs. They are still the underdogs of American and Australian societies. At least Australian Prime Minister apologised to the natives for their evil deeds. Brits living in Spain and France don't even bother learning the language of the new adopted country. Frankly suggesting that people don't want to become "British" they should move elsewhere is extremely irritating. Immigrants are in UK because they are needed, it was never an act of charity. Without migration, British economy and society will bleed to death. British culture and customs will undoubtedly change as it has for millennium due to immigration. I am not quite sure why Brits would be worried about that. Of course Multiculturalism has failed. The Irish hate the English The Scots hate the English & the Welsh hate The English. So what do you expect from people from other nations. Whilst I agree that you have an immigration problem in this country, I don't think that this is your main problem. Your main problem is the disintegration of the family unit and the loveless binge drinking environment that your children are growing up in! NEVER in my life have I seen another country where people so seldom give their children a hug and a kiss like in this country and NEVER in my life have I seen another country where there are so many children from different fathers growing up in single parent households! Before you tackle the immigration problem (at least the immigrants LOVE their kids) you should first look at yourselves! Why complain when it’s the British who first migrated into other lands enslaving those people? When it is a question on immigration, the feelings are so strong. I wonder why. Serves you right! Britain! When the British colonised the world, it was ok. But now when people from the former colonies and from other countries come to Britain, its not ok? Look into history and then you can cry because what goes around comes around. Don't see why people have such a problem with mass immigration? It enriches our culture and boosts the economy! We have to stop looking at these people as immigrants and think of them as human beings. The immigrants are not to blame because they were invited and welcomed here by our successive government. We have quite large Spanish , French and Italian communities in Brighton and I believe it really enhances the place and adds to diversity of the City. Globalisation is here to stay. Britain colonised & some would say civilised half the world. It's called Karma. Not so long ago British people colonized Asia, living like kings while locals suffering to no end. At least, these migrants do not enslave the Britons, so stop whining please.IALondon School of Islamics Trust
