Your ideas for next MP's first question to next Prime Minister of Britain...?

I've always said that if elected on 6 May I want to be a constituency MP.  That's why I'm inviting local residents to post suggestions here or email me ideas for my first question to the new Prime Minister, should I be elected as the constituency's new MP.Your question could be anything from the local to a global concern.  I am making no assumptions about the result of the election: you, the voters, will decide. What I hope I am making clear is that if I am elected I would endeavour to develop a different, stronger relationship with local people.  Actively encouraging you to propose questions that I ask in parliamentary questions is just the first step.  My priority is to be accessible to you and be your voice in Parliament. If I am elected this is the one of many changes I would introduce to ensure that my parliamentary work reflects the needs and interests of the people of Chiswick, Brentford, Hounslow, Isleworth, Gunnersbury and Osterley.Suggestions should be texted to 07788 116159 or emailed to hi@andrewdakers.com by midnight on Monday 3 May -- or posted here. The most common five questions will then feature in a poll on www.andrewdakers.com through to election day – 6 May– when the most popular question will be announced.I have also explained this in a short video message:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3n5k7mGzuQ (Note the slightly extended deadline above!)Best wishes and thank you,Andrew

Wierd Leaflet from Ann Keen

After years of receiving nothing from Ann Keen or the Labour Party,we finally received a small A5 size leaflet from her yesterday. One page is devoted totally to her position on hunting which somewhat wierd as hunting is not exactly a major issue in Brentford and Isleworth. In addition it is not a party political issue as any future votes on this issue would be on a free vote basis - unwhipped. The second page is devoted to the Labour Government's record on Animal Welfare.Since 1997, there have certainly been improvements regarding welfare - not only in the UK but in the EU as a whole. I am quite sure that such measures would have been introduced by any Government- whether the Conservatives (with their strong rural base and support from farmers and animals lovers), Liberal Democrat (another party with support in rural areas)or Labour (a predominantly urban party). I fail to see what credit Mrs Keen is trying to claim for this.It is noteworthy that Mrs Keen's leaflet does not mention Hunting and Killing Innocent Iraqi Civilians, the National Debt, the Labour Government's Record Deficit, Rising Unemployment, Rising Taxation, the NHS, Education, Immigration, the Incompetence of Gordon Brown, the Lisbon Treaty or a host of other issues which could be loosely grouped under the heading Human Welfare.Perhaps Mrs Keen has given up on persuading ordinary human beings for voting for her and is concentrating on winning the endorsement of fringe groups such as the Animal Liberation Front.Maybe the Animal Liberation Front is funding her campaign ?Perhaps she will explain herself at the Hustings at Christ Church Turnham Green, Chiswick at 730 pm on Friday
