Try and avoid the Whitton Dene area if possible

I have just had an e-mail which may be helpful to someDear Cllrs. You are possibly aware that Whitton Dene is currently closed due to a burst water main. At the time of the burst it was expected that the main would be repaired within a week to 10-days, but this has not happened and I have today been provided with the following update. The water main which burst in Whitton Dene also serves West Middlesex Hospital and therefore Thames Water have been unable to shut it down to undertake the repair. Thames Water have now arranged with West Middlesex Hospital for a fleet of water tankers to service the hospital on Saturday 24 May allowing them to shut the main down on that day and carry out the repair. I have been advised that the reason for the delay is down to the logistics of organising so many water tankers to service such a large and sensitive establishment. If the repair is successful on the 24 May then the reinstatement of the road will begin on the 25 May. Due to the amount of damage the water has caused and the make-up of the road it will take a further 7-10 days to complete the reinstatement. We anticipate that the road will be reopened during week commencing 2 June.Traffic continues to be diverted as follows: traffic within LB Hounslow - Eastbound via Whitton Dene, Rugby Road, Whitton Road and Kneller Road; Westbound via Whitton Dene, Hounslow Road and Kneller Road.traffic within LB Richmond upon Thames - Eastbound via Kneller Road, Whitton Dene and Rugby Road to Whitton Dene; westbound traffic via Kneller Road, Hounslow Road to Whitton Dene. For information Thames Water's customer support number is 0845 9 200 800.

Hounslow Homes-What Do I Get For My Money?

I wonder if anyone, who doesn't work for Hounslow Homes (HH), can enlighten me.I pay a lot of service charges to HH as a private leaseholder in Cedar Court and am totally in the dark what services I actually get for my money. When I have asked I have been ignored and as a contract must have two parts consideration and services provided, I am legally entitled to know in detail what I get for my money. For example; Caretaker. What caretaker? The man that parks a van in the residents car park all day and seems to do nothing? I want a list of the things that I have part-paid for over the last 12 months that he or she (apologies if you are a woman) has actually done,I don't feel that parking a big van across twor or three car parking spaces is of benefit to me or the other residents.Example two: buildings insurance. Where is my copy of the policy that I paid nearly 10 x over the odds for (yes I checked on real prices and man do I get stitched up)Example three: general repairs and upkeep. Where, what, when and how much, I see no evidence of anything. In fact all I have ever seen is grass cutting once every month or so, and an exterior light bulb repair (never actually saw it repaired) that I reported.Although they did put in recycling bins after I requested them which was a good move, shame they didn't put in a plastic bin as lots of that needs to get recycled.Don't get me wrong. I pay my way in the world, always have but no more patience is available for HH and their "pay up or else" tactics or demaniding money but ignoring me if I dare to question or object to anything So if someone can tell me what I am getting for my money I would be grateful because it just looks like one more council department fleecing me to line their own pockets and then telling me to take a hike if I disagree with themI dearly hope it isn't the case as I stand up for myself
