Public Meeting Park Rd. allotment plans 29/11/2016

After much lobbying the promised public meeting to discuss the Duke of Northumberland's plans to re-locate the allotments and build 100 odd homes on the vacated site in Park Rd. is to be held at Isleworth Public Hall 29th November at 7.00.p.m. This will be an opportunity to ask questions, and also to question the feasibility of moving allotments to an area in one of the remaining unspoilt Capability Brown landscapes, and what will be up for grabs next if this application is successful. The traffic implications for this proposal are also worrying given its proximity to Church St. and the knock on effects that has already caused.

From the front page - an interim report on the Church St. Closure going to (Isleworth & Brentford Area Forum) committee 15th September."At the current time, it is not possible to state that the closure of Church Street has led to a severe impact on journey times for those passing through the wider network or using public transport, although there is some recordable increase in traffic volumes for those heading southbound on Twickenham Road"."Was the person who wrote that at the Edinburgh Fringe or something? If so, they missed out on the best joke award, or they are simply taking the p*ss. Morons, idiots, twerps, prats and liars, there is no way anyone could make a statement like that unless they had their tongue firmly in their cheek. I bumped into a local councillor yesterday who was very annoyed at the time a bus journey on the H20 had just taken because of the traffic on the Twickenham Rd. The closure of Church St. is, and has been, a complete and utter disaster, but minds were made up long ago and these people have never heard of saying when they get it spectacularly wrong and having the humility to apologise, they are a disgrace.

Have a look..

at the photo' on the homepage of the  proposed development south of the high street. It looks horrendous imo, and before you say I'm a nimby who wants to stand in the way of 'progress', that is not the case at all. I know something needs to be done but this looks like a low rent mini Blade Runner set. The development will have to last for 60 or 70 years, imagine what all those fancy greenhouses will look like then. It looks cheap and unimaginative imo.

Brown Garden Bin not emptied

Was meant to be emptied on 01/11/2016, my neighbours ones were!! It was in the same place as other rubbish. So I reported  on-line and got a reply saying it would be collected before 5:30 Yesterday. It wasn't.  I'm not holding my breath!

Layton Road Vehicle Damage

A friend of mine is looking after a sick relative and the only place they can find to park near there property is in Layton Road.They have been experiencing some odd damage now and then, but yesterday they had there door mirror smashed.Sometimes they park over night by paying at the pay and display up to 8pm then moving their vehicle  before 9am the next morning.Yesterday evening they were called out after 8pm and the only space they could find was in the resents parking , which finishes at 8pm so as they were only going to be a couple of hours they parked there, only to arrive back to find the door mirror smashed.I hope the residents of Layton Road haven't resorted to damaging vehicles that park in there road because they cannot park themselves.A visiting vehicle must be annoying to residents of Layton Road when they pay for a permit and after 8pm a visitor can park in the road.This is not the fault of the visitor, I would put the blame on Hounslow Council for letting developers build new buildings without adequate parking for residents or visitors.Guess what? They are thinking of parking nearby in a council estate, which is already full to the brim with vehicles.

fireworks til 3 a.m.

Does anyone know who was responsible for the fireworks on Sunday night that could still be heard in Lionel Road North at 2.45 Monday morning (31st Oct)? Are these events subject to any regulations? Is official permission of some sort required? Are any time restrictions imposed? I would be very grateful for any information. Thanks.

Double Standards or Double Dopey?

Last week on Sky News, The leader of Hounslow Council was pontificating on about how Councils like Hounslow need government funding to house the 'Child' refugees from CalaisFair point. Why should Hounslow council be footing the costs.But surely Mr Curran ought to ask why on earth Hounslow is even taking these children?This is a Borough like many others in London with an extreme crisis.The very same borough that just a few months ago showed the dire situation on a National TV channel, of it's Housing department barely and badly coping with existing inhabitants.Having watched the way in which a 19 year old Girl, born and reared in Hounslow, and in a homeless situation was offered housing in ...Birmingham. Away from all her friends and family.We heard how subsequently she remained here but on the sofa of a friend.She is of course barely more than a child, younger than most of the male children arriving and female. But in the policy of LBH. An adult.Similarly we have able bodied teenagers being housed in a flat for disabled amongst older people and being well, unchecked teenagers.  Not so nice for the rest in the block.And this right under the Leaders nose.Why were those teenagers not placed in a flat on a higher level when there are so many with disabilities and infirmities desperate to be located on the ground floor ?How much waste when a flat is already adapted for wheelchair use? Even more spent when no doubt another flat will be specially converted.Surely Cllr Curran needs to get HH in order before extending the offer of housing refugees when so many towns up and down the UK take none at all.Then he could at least have a degree of credibility when raising a decent point. Instead, he was simply derided.

Are there any in Isleworth or Brentford?  Just interested.I receive the St Michaels players emails and they are now selling tickets to their Christmas panto Beauty and the Beast.  I seem to recognise a few names ...BEAUTY and the BEAST7-10 Dec4pm Matinee on SaturdayIt's Panto time again Time for our last show of 2016 and, as usual, it is our world-famous, can't be beaten, cardboard cut-out pantomime which this year is "Beauty and the Beast".  Written by Ben Crocker, who also wrote our last two pantomimes; "Puss in Boots" and "Ali Baba"  in case you were wondering, and starring some new faces amongst the usual bunch of reprobates.Anyway; Onto this year's mayhem and it's another rompin', stompin' panto. The ultimate tale of true love brought to life with all the panto trimmings that we know and love plus a bit more besides.  Where's the Prince gone? Will Ma sacrifice herself to save Beauty? Will Beauty ever love the Beast? Who is the Beast?
